Increase in Travel/RAC premium
With effect from 1st April 2014 the premium for the Federation Travel Insurance scheme / RAC breakdown Cover will increase.
The new rates are :
For serving officers £6.98 per month.
For retired officers £7.58 per month.
For retired officers aged 65+ £13.58 per month.

We have successfully negotiated an age extension to the Travel and RAC with auto enrolment until the age of 70. There is an increase in premium as listed above. Your cover will be continued into the 'new' scheme unless you opt out. Please notify us on should you wish to do so.

For those officers who have already left the existing scheme due to age and wish to re-join, please contact us on the above email. I have added an application form available by clicking here.

Breakdown Scheme

The RAC have extended the length of vehicles covered under the scheme from 5.5 metres to 6.4 metres. It won't make a difference to most members but should please those with motor homes or vans which are between 5.5 metres and 6.4 metres in length, as they will now be included in the cover.

Guidance Note On The Duty Of Disclosure

It is a legal requirement world-wide that anyone seeking a new policy of insurance/reinsurance or cover for additional risks or renewal under an existing policy, must disclose any information that might influence the insurers/reinsurers in fixing the premium or determining whether to accept the risk. Under English law, failure to do so may entitle insurers/reinsurers to avoid cover from inception and seek repayment of paid claims. If you are in any doubt as to whether information is material, you should disclose it.
