Media Release Kent Police Federation Pays Tribute to Fallen Officer
PC Phillip Pratt was fatally injured on Sunday 14th June on the A249 near Sittingbourne as he attempted to introduce a diversion to protect the scene of an earlier accident.
Phil, a police constable since 2005 had previously worked in the Force Communication Centre as a member of police staff and had been a special constable.
Ian Pointon, Chairman of Kent Police Federation said,
"Phil was a much loved and respected police officer. His dedication to policing in Kent was beyond doubt. His tragic death has devastated everyone. Policing is like a family, his loss has been felt not just in Kent but throughout the country."
"The loss of Phil is a stark reminder that police officers routinely place their lives on the line when they go out to do their job, serving the public."
"Phil will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by loved ones and colleagues alike. Both Kent Police and the public of Kent have lost a fine officer. Our hearts go out to his fiancée, family, friends and colleagues."
